Wow!!!! They are so cute together! :D Michael Heller as Alfred and Dorothea Baumann as Sarah. I love both of them. I wrote books about Michael as Alfred, but Dorothea makes such a cute Sarah. She was how I want my Sarahs to be :D

Extremely lovely pic!

Based on this pic I’d start to ship Alfred and Sarah… ;-)

You see, it could work! Sometimes!

Tibor Héger and Mercedesz Csampai: Draussen ist Freiheit (reprise)

Gosh, I love Tibor so much in this one, the emotions and everything! I also appreciate the extra undone shirt buttons. ;-)

The relationship of Alfred and Sarah in Tanz der Vampire: Where they start

foralfred:

I want to talk about the relationship of Alfred and Sarah, how I see it and what I see of each of the characters through its lens. Not necessarily relationship in the “romantic relationship” sense, though I admit to being one of the few Alfred/Sarah shippers in existence (OK, even more I ship Alfred/someone-who-can-appreciate-him-for-example-myself, but with the right kind of actress playing Sarah I can’t resist the urge to want to see them together). But regardless of whether you think there’s any kind of chance for a real, long-lasting relationship of the romantic kind between them, or if there should be, it’s clear if you look at what’s going on that these two have a connection in the musical and that each matters something to the other’s story. It’s also interesting to look at how their choices differ, and how they affect each other. From that perspective they have a very fascinating relationship, and one that shouldn’t be ignored just because Krolock/Sarah scenes may often capture the viewers’ imagination more (and are much emphasized in the promotion of the musical).

For the record, I’m not trying to belittle the importance of the Krolock/Sarah relationship, but just to point out that the Alfred/Sarah relationship is interesting as well. In both cases, I don’t use the word ‘relationship’ just to mean a romantic one, but any kind of relationship any two characters can have to each other in the story.

One meaning I see in the story of Tanz der Vampire is that it’s a growth story, a story of coming of age, of young people meeting the adult world and coming to terms with it. And those young people are Alfred and Sarah.

This was super interesting to read!

Thank you! I’m so pleased and flattered people are interested to read my thoughts on this. I will continue as soon as I have the time and energy to focus on writing more of it.
