Ádám Pásztor as Alfred (definitely wanting more than just cookies).
Look what I found in the house I’m sitting :D *hopes there’s a Herbert hidden somewhere too*
This does more imply that Sarah must be somewhere…or Alfred…
Nah, I think they ran off together, leaving the poor sponge alone. But if I come across Alfred, I’ll ship him to you!
I do not believe in Sarah and Alfred together…Sarah gets bored and dumps him…I’ll be very happy to comfort him! So thanks! ;-)
Who says it will be Sarah? Why couldn’t it happen that Alfred, with his new-found confidence and unscrupulousness as a vampire, will eventually realise Sarah isn’t treating him as well as he deserves and that there are other people who also find him cute.
Well, I would like to write a story about that some time, anyway. I’d need an unusually spunky Alfred for that one, true, but it would be satisfying…
I am a weirdo in the fandom in that I am something of an Alfred/Sarah shipper, though. At least it’s what Alfred wants, unlike the more popular pairing for him, Alfred/Herbert. And I don’t know, though many Sarahs play her as cold towards him, I don’t think she’s meant to be that way, I think she’s meant to be attracted to him and really care more about him but then be swept away by the charm of the Count. I can’t help that there’s a part of me that goes all “aww” and soft at the sight of a sweet Alfred/Sarah pair, even though I know she isn’t treating him as well as he deserves. There’s just something about that combination of two young and hopeful people, each thirsty for life and feeling in their way, each looking for the way to be in the world and wondering if they could find it in each other, even if the story doesn’t go as it should and she is too unappreciative of him. And I find their interactions interesting, regardless.
Tanz der Vampire - the only musical I know that makes lots of people want to trade places with a sponge.
Aris Sas (Alfred) and Cornelia Zenz (Sarah), original Vienna production.
Ádám Pásztor as Alfred, Dóra Stróbel as Sarah, Budapest production.
I’m sure I’ve posted this before, but it needs to be posted every now and then… Look at his expression. And the sponge.
László Sánta as Alfred and Zsanett Andrádi as Sarah, Budapest production.
This is one of my favourite scenes, to the extent that I can separate any favourite scenes as I’m quite in love with the whole musical. But this is one of those that has me perking up and quivering with anticipation of fun particularly much.
Ádám Pásztor as Alfred, Dóra Stróbel as Sarah. And The Sponge. Budapest production.
